Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Wasco Residents Directory receives, how that limited information is handled, and what choices may be available. The site is a reference to Wasco and Kern County public-record sources in California, does not require an account, and does not maintain a resident record about you.

Information You Enter

A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to respond.

Information Collected by the Site

Our hosting service records ordinary technical logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. We review those details in aggregate to maintain the site and understand which Wasco pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.

How We Use the Limited Data

We use it to operate the site, troubleshoot faults, measure general traffic, and improve the pages that explain Wasco and Kern County records. We do not sell a visitor list or build an individual user profile from this information.

External Portals and Services

Pages may point to Kern County and California records portals, library collections, archives, or third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the outside provider's privacy policy controls what you submit and how it is handled. Sponsored results are supplied by a separate third party as well.

Who May Process It

Hosting and technical service providers may process the server logs needed to run the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure, and otherwise do not provide it as a separate visitor list.

Security and Retention

The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as the operational purposes above require. Because there are no accounts, this site does not hold your password or a user profile that could be exposed.

Children and Minors

This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us and we will delete what we can locate.

Your California Privacy Choices

Where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., may provide rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, use Global Privacy Control, limit certain sensitive information, and receive equal treatment for exercising a right. Government-record information is outside the CCPA's publicly available information scope, subject to the law's exceptions. Removing a copy held by a data broker does not erase the underlying deed, court, license, or other record held by a public custodian.

California's DROP tool launched in January 2026. The state says registered brokers' deletion and stop-sale obligations begin August 1, 2026; review the current California DROP instructions for scope and exceptions.

For a request to a public agency, the California Public Records Act (CPRA), Government Code §§7920.000–7931.000, covers reasonably described, identifiable nonexempt records under §7922.530. Section 7922.535 gives the agency ten calendar days to make a disclosure determination and notify the requester, with a possible written extension of up to 14 days for unusual circumstances. That is a determination window, not a promise that production will occur within ten days. We do not control records held by the City of Wasco, Kern County, or California agencies. Use the Contact page for this site's limited data, and send public-record requests to the custodian.
